Never doubt that a small group
of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.— Margaret Mead

Dear fellow Redlander,
Good news! Redlands is a unique community filled with thoughtful and committed citizens.
In 2001 a group of visionary Redlanders formed a community endowment for Redlands and the East Valley, believing that individual philanthropy has a serious role to play in changing the world.
And, as much as there is to celebrate from this effort over the past 13 years, there is still more to accomplish.
This is not a traditional approach to charity.
Long-term solutions require patience and capital . . . and a strong community foundation delivers both.*
The potential for solving problems and making a difference lies within our community . . . the money is here if we bring it together over time and allow it to grow.
The Redlands Community Foundation will change lives for the better and meet the needs of our community in perpetuity.
Pooling our money to benefit our community is the one thing that has the potential to multiply the amount of money available for the causes that we care about so deeply.
You can make more of an impact than you can imagine when your gift is combined with the support of others who share your vision for our region.
Will you join me by becoming a Friend of the Foundation today?
Your support will help power this vision for a stronger community. And you will be in the company of thoughtful, committed donors who represent the best of Redlands.
Your gift of $50, $100, $500, $1,000, or $5,000 before December 31 will make a difference—right here, right now, and into future generations.
I look forward to hearing from you.
With kind regards,
President of the Board of Trustees
P.S. Last year, Friends of the Foundation helped protect vulnerable youth and families, sustain local arts and culture, and enhance literacy and sports programs. Your gift by December 31 will make a difference in the lives of our neighbors in 2015.
P.P.S. As a Friend of the Foundation, your partnership will be recognized on the Foundation’s website and in the annual report.
*A community foundation is a charitable organization supported by local donors and governed by a board of private citizens who work toward the greater good of the citizens in the community. Funds come from a variety of sources, including annual gifts, bequests, and donated funds for specific causes. The investment earnings are then distributed to worthy causes. Today, more than 1,700 community foundations exist around the world to do just that.
